Peru continues to amaze and delight!

Entering into the Sacred Valley one can certainly feel how it got its name.  Not only is it visually breath-taking with the rugged mountains and serene river, there is an energy here that is palpable.  Like Sedona, the Sacred Valley has many energy vortices.

Here are just a few magical moments from the Sacred Valley:

  • Spending time in a remote Quechua Andean village, sitting in a circle with local women dressed in beautiful coloured  traditional clothing…receiving a wonderful welcome of music and dance.  One woman leans over and asks in rudimentary Spanish “What do you grow in your country, quinoa, potatoes?” “What type of animals to you keep, alpaca, cows?”  “Do you sew and weave like we do?”   In that moment I was struck by two things…she was just as curious about my way of life as I was about hers…and when we connect, we truly are all the same!
  • Looking up at the night sky with countless stars shining back at you under the light of a glorious full moon.
  • Visiting salt mines that are visually stunning in their simplicity.  Seeing how the collection of salt has not changed in over 300 years.
  • Finally seeing Machu Picchu through a local shaman’s eyes.  As you come up the mountain and the spectacular site appears before you, you feel at first you are looking at one of the many stunning photos and then it hits you…this is very REAL!.  Learning about what they now believe this awe-inspiring site to be…a “mystic university” of sorts run by holy women who taught about spiritual rituals and cultivated medicinal plants.

This country is truly a wonder to behold!
