There is just no disputing it, Canada is a beautiful country. From coast to coast there is so much to see, do and explore. We are so lucky to call Canada our home.

As this year is Canada’s 150th Birthday, Parks Canada has invited Canadians and visitors from around the world to discover all Parks Canada locations for free, and have many planned events and festivals across the country. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, make sure you check out the Parks Canada Website for Travel Tips and Ideas!

Here are just a few of our favourite Canadian destinations (from west to east) that we think are worthy of adding to your bucket list and exploring as well:

TOFINO, BRITISH COLUMBIA:

With the majestic trees from the rainforest and the salty ocean air, Tofino is a natural healing place. Tofino, named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2000, is located a few hundred kilometres northwest of Victoria, BC in the centre of Clayoquot Sound. Surrounded by ocean and rocky coastal shores and a temperate rainforest, Tofino is one of the best places along the west coast for whale watching, bear watching and sea kayaking. It is also home to several yoga studios, spas and wellness resorts for those looking for a more “Om” type of experience.

BANFF, ALBERTA:

There is no doubt that when you visit Banff you will be completely awestruck. This small town, snuggled in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains just outside of Calgary, is full of charm with it’s fine dining, upscale shopping, galleries and beautiful luxury accommodations such as the Fairmont Banff Springs. Banff is also home to the healing waters of the Banff Hot Springs, at the base of Sulphur Mountain.

MUSKOKA, ONTARIO:

Muskoka, less than 200 kilometers from Toronto, is affectionately known as Ontario’s cottage country. Movie stars and millionaires are drawn to the breath-taking beauty Muskoka has to offer. Just imagine yourself on crystal-clear lakes, listening to the sounds of the loon’s call and just feeling renewed and tranquil. Muskoka is beautiful year-round; but one of our favourite times to visit is in autumn when the leaves are changing colour and the feeling in the air is truly majestic. Check out this video from our Muskoka Unveiled and Reimagined – Autumn Reflections, Rejuvenation and Refinement Experience

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC:

When you venture into old Quebec City it’s as if you are stepping back in time to a quaint old European town, with its cobblestone streets and wonderful architecture. Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the only fortified city north of Mexico with over 400 years of history! Did you know that Quebec City has been named a “Must See” for Canada & New England Cruises?

FOGO ISLAND, NEWFOUNDLAND:

Off the northeast corner of Newfoundland (pronounced “newfinland”), bound by the rugged shores of the wild North Atlantic Ocean, is a small spot in the ocean called Fogo Island. The temperate maritime climate is home to countless species of flora and fauna. Not unlike the west coast, this is a great spot for whale and bird watching! For folk art collectors Fogo Island is a gold mine of unusual and unique works of art. It is also home to Travel & Leisure Magazine’s 2017 Best Resort Hotel in Canada, Fogo Island Inn. Stunning, welcoming, luxurious, understated and quirky…perhaps a future Divine Destination Collection Experience….Divine-by-Design Travel Advisory Board Members let us know your thoughts!

Obviously, Canada has so many other divine destinations to explore! Get out and explore as much of this beautiful country as you can, eh!
